By: Co+op Total Time: 5 minutes Servings: 2

You don’t need protein powder to make a protein-rich shake. Yogurt, milk and peanut butter contribute a respectable amount of protein in this easy blend. At around 17 grams per serving, you’re off to a good start when you sip on this for breakfast or a fortifying snack.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 3/4 cup frozen banana slices
  • 3 tablespoons peanut butter
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Preparation

  1. In a blender, place the yogurt, milk, banana, peanut butter, cocoa and vanilla.
  2. Secure the lid and blend, scraping down as needed to make a smooth puree.
  3. Serve immediately.

Serving Suggestion

Straws make a smoothie even more enjoyable. Look for reusable stainless steel straws at your food co-op.
