Celebrate Thanksgiving on Mulberry
Sustainably harvested Minnesota balsam firs… In-store cranberry bog… That’s right, the holiday season has landed here at the St. Peter Food Co-op. Here are a few things you definitely don’t want to miss:
Local Ferndale Turkeys
There’s still time to pre-order your local, pasture-raised turkey from Ferndale Market. Our online order form will close at 9PM on Wednesday, November 14th but we’ll still have turkeys available for purchase at the Co-op through Thanksgiving. Ferndale turkeys are a staple here in Minnesota, and have been raised without antibiotics, fed a natural diet from a local feed mill, and processed without additives. Stop by our Deli Hot Bar on Friday, November 16th for a taste!
Willamette Valley Pies
Don’t feel like baking this year? The Co-op’s got you covered. We’ll be offering pre-baked pies from Willamette Valley Pie Company, an Oregon-based farm that’s been in operation for three generations. Each summer the Willamette Valley Pie Company processes about 12 million pounds of fruit, including strawberries, raspberries, cranberries, and Marionberries. All you have to do is pick one up, stick it into the oven to reheat, and enjoy.
Children’s Weekend Food Program
It wouldn’t be November if we weren’t talking about ways to give back to our community. Every year, the St. Peter Food Co-op runs an annual donation drive to contribute to the Children’s Weekend Food Program, inviting customers to round-up when they checkout to help meet the needs of food insecure children in St. Peter. The goal of the St. Peter Children’s Weekend Food Program is to provide child-friendly, nutritious, non-perishable food items for breakfast, lunch and snacks for local students on non-school days. Help us meet our goal of $6,000!
Thanksgiving on Mulberry
Celebrate your favorite food holiday and stop by to see our refreshed store! From Thursday, November 15th through Wednesday, November 21st, we’ll be offering special sales, local producer visits, and free samples throughout the Co-op. Perhaps you’ve been following along with our store refresh? We’ve wrapped up construction and are excited to welcome you back into the Co-op to check out what’s new. See our Facebook event for a full list of vendor visits.
The Co-op is open regular hours until Thanksgiving. We are closed on November 22nd and will re-open as usual on Friday, November 23rd. Hope to see you shopping local this season!
